What began as a routine day ended with you and your family spending time in the hospital. Liability and trucking accidents

While some similarities exist between trucking and automobile accidents, such as the fact that both a trucker and another vehicle's occupants can suffer injuries or be killed, there are many differences as well. It's important to know that truckers are considered to be expert drivers and are thus held to higher standards.

Kentucky law and wrongful death claims for car accidents

A wrongful death suit stemming from a car accident is filed in cases in which one's death or serious injury was determined to have resulted from someone else's negligence. If it can be demonstrated that gross negligence took place, then a person may be entitled to compensation. In cases in which death occurred, the victim's personal representative is eligible to file the case.

Safety tips to follow to avoid motorcycle accidents

Motorcycles are not the safest mode of transportation on the road. In fact, you are 27 times more likely to die as a result of riding a motorcycle than in other vehicles. Motorcyclists are also six times more likely to be injured. This is why it is important not to drink and ride, and to wear helmets that are Department of Transportation compliant. Drinking and riding accounts for 43 percent of motorcyclists who died in 2014.
