Fall driving is dangerous for even the best drivers

Driving in the fall has the potential to be dangerous for a number of reasons. One of these reasons is back-to-school traffic. In the morning and mid-afternoon, you may notice heavier traffic than usual. On top of that, buses and other forms of transportation clog up the roadways. It's necessary for you to pay attention during these times, because there is a higher possibility for someone to make a mistake that causes a crash.

Another reason fall is dangerous for drivers is the risk of a car skidding on wet roads. Slick roadways may be due to rain or fog in some cases. Additionally, once the leaves begin to fall off the trees, they may hide pot holes or become slick themselves. When your tires hit the wet leaves, it could result in you losing control of your vehicle.

Frost is another concern. When you get into your vehicle, the windows may be completely frosted over. If you're in a rush, you may think that you can drive as long as a small patch is clear, but the truth is that you should wait until the windows have defrosted completely. If not, you may find that the sun hits the ice on the windshield and temporarily glares into your eyes. That can make it hard to see and could cause a serious accident.

Being prepared for the fall can help you prevent a serious crash. If you're hit by someone else who is not paying attention or driving safely, you can pursue a claim against the negligent driver and seek compensation.
