Man charged after being accused of causing fatal accident

When someone hits a person, you expect that individual to stay at the scene and offer aid if possible. The last thing you ever expect is for the person to flee, attempting to avoid penalties for the crash. Unfortunately, many people do hit others and then leave the scene, hoping they won't get caught. That might have been what happened in this case in Kentucky.

A suspect in a case involving a fatal car crash has been charged, according to a Nov. 19 report. The news states that the suspect, a 45-year-old man, was arrested near the local Papa John's Cardinal Stadium after being found by police.

The crash the man faces charges for took place on South Floyd street where it crosses Central Avenue. There, the car crash happened at around 2:30 a.m., when the 45-year-old man allegedly drove through a traffic light and hit the passenger side of a passing vehicle. The police reported that the vehicle that was struck had the right of way.

The crash resulted in the victims' vehicle spinning before it eventually came to a stop. Inside, a female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The police reported that the 45-year-old man fled the scene on foot, but he was later arrested by officers. Now, he faces charges including assault, wonton endangerment, manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.

Crashes like this don't have to happen. If you're struck because of another person's negligence, remember that you can file a claim and make the other person take responsibility for his or her actions.
